WHO WE ARE

Back in 2000, long before kids, we stumbled across Big White while travelling between Lake Louise and Whistler. The snow was amazing, the slopes almost empty and the village had a friendly, cozy feel to it. I'm a pilot with a major UK airline and am fortunate to have been to many of the major ski resorts in Canada, USA, Europe and Japan. Big White is still our favourite.

We chose #1 Blacksmith Lodge for its location and design. Being the end town-home, it has amazing views in 3 directions. With 2 balconies, it's a great place to watch the weekly Big White firework display - or relax in the hot tub after a fun day on the slopes!

BIG WHITE

Famous for its beautiful "Snow Ghosts", Big White Ski Resort is located 35 mi southeast of Kelowna in the Southern Interior of British Columbia. A 4 hour drive from Vancouver or a 5 hour drive from Seattle, Big White is becoming increasingly popular with visitors from Australia, the UK and Europe. The nearest airport is Kelowna, a 45 minute shuttle bus ride away, with links to many major airports in the USA and Canada (including Vancouver and Seattle).

The mountain summit is at 7,608 ft with a vertical drop of 2,549 ft, serviced by 16 lifts. The mountain receives 750 cm of annual snowfall with 2,765 acres of skiable terrain. With 38 acres of night skiing, Big White has western Canada's largest resort night skiing area. The village center is 5,758 ft above sea level and is traffic free.
