Big White Information

As Canada’s largest totally ski-in, ski-out resort village, Big White has a huge amount to offer.  Not only is there  some of the best skiing in North America and a mind-boggling amount of activities but the resort offers more things to do in the most accessible way than almost anywhere else we have been to.  Whether your wishis a game of pool after skiing, a wine tasting or tubing: it is all here.

It is the highest village resort in Canada at 5,700 feet and Ski Canada magazine calls it the ‘best cruising mountain in Canada’.  The Big White terrain with its above tree line skiing challenges the advanced skier or snowboarder.  The Cliff Bowl has an average grade of 40% and the Falcon Chair will also challenge the expert.  However, Big White boasts that any beginner can ski off the top of any chair and the majority of the mountain is for intermediates who love the well-groomed long cruising runs. Night skiing operates Tuesday to Saturday.

In the Daily Mail’s “top 5 Kid's areas in the world” the award-winning Kids’ Centre is huge fun: it has been designed totally for children with bright colours and an inviting atmosphere.  (The television has rabbit’s ears growing out of the top!).

In the main village, there is a good selection of restaurants and bars as well as a grocery and liquor store, gift shop, ski/board rental/repair shop and Budget Rent a Car is on hill.  The Happy Valley Adventure Park, a couple of minutes from Blacksmith lodge, is very popular with adults and children.  It has ice skating, tubing, snowmobiling and many other off-piste activities. The gondola takes you all the way up to the village. In Kelowna, a 40-minute drive away, you will find all the shops you could possible want.
